App would be 5 stars without all of the little bugs that happen from time to time. Like for instance, right now the PGA rankings for earnings, shows Gotterup with 3$ in earnings, there are a few others as well that show 1, 2, 3, or 4 dollars in earnings on the year. Stuff like that happens a lot, but other than all of those little annoying bugs, it's the only sports app I use now. Went from the espn app to here, would rather have bugs than use espn. Would easily give it 5 stars, if not for that.

I have used this app for several years and in mid to late 2025, the app has become extremely frustrating. There seems to have been an effort to add more ads to the feed and that has just made other functionality within the app more frustrating. Each time I open the app, my scores feed is defaulted to the first day available (usually from a week ago) and I have to constantly scroll to get to the first day. I get ads need to pay for the app, but it's increasingly becoming unusable.

Too many pop up ads. If i need to subscribe to the website the article is from to read the article why have this app in the first place? I should just go online and find the article that way. Its extremely annoying to open an article just to be hit with an immediate advertisement. Not every article does it. But enough of them do. Edit July '21: about every 3rd article is from a website that wants you to subscribe. Looking for a new app, unfortunately.

What in the world happened? In this latest release it's showing the scores of my favorite teams in the pull down on my Android phone! No warning! By default, I did not want to see the scores of favs, as I typically record the games and watch them later in the evening (golf too). I did a quick look for a Notifications switch to turn off, but didn't see anything intuitive jumping out about "spoiler" settings. This is a major change (in my opinion) and I can't update my rating until rectified.

Used to love this app. However, over time it's gotten slower and slower. Now, over the past few days, I can rarely get it to load. I open it, get the full screen opening ad (of course that loads), and then the ad goes away and stays stuck on the full page "Score" logo. Force stop and clearing app cache worked once... But no longer. Guess it's time to find another app that is fast AND reliable.

The best sports news app out there save for one thing: the lag they've either built in or failed to eliminate from their top banner ad, which can frequently lead the user to "accidentally" click on the ad when it pops up right as the user is tapping up high to navigate somewhere else. If it's intentional, it's a little shady; if it's unintentional, it's poor engineering.

Changed from 5 stars to 3. I used to love this app but lately it's not the best anymore. Problem a couple weeks ago with no NCAAF scores, and now, when your looking at all the scores but then click on the game is a different clock time and different down and yards to go.. it just doesn't seem as efficient as it used to be, very frustrating.

Dropping my review from 5 to 3 stars. This app lags constantly. After several uses, the "Game Log" page takes 20+ seconds to load. Each time I report it, they say I should uninstall/reinstall the app to fix it. Really annoying because this is one of the few apps that has an easy to use UI and shows you what you want to see - sports scores.

Over the last few weeks, theScore notifications have been disappearing way quicker than usual, at least it feels that way. A notification sent out a few hours ago just disappeared and I was leaving it to look at later and I don't know why. There were only a few other notifications from theScore so shouldn't have been too many to make it disappear. Please fix this or explain why it's happening. I shouldn't have to screenshot my notifications just to make sure they don't disappear!!!

Used to be a great app. The update has ruined it. Used to be able to find scores for the various sports but now forget that. And as others have commented, it is loaded with ads now. If they had just left it alone and simply added the ads, I could probably tolerate it but now it is nearly impossible for me to find what I am looking for. I have uninstalled it and we'll be looking for another app for sports scores.

I liked this app, but the multi-sport widget stops working every day - the scores stop updating automatically, the refresh button doesn't work, and it won't switch to another sport. I have to delete the widget and add it back for it to work. The app includes sports that I would have never guessed it covered, but they don't have college softball as an option... The app is less enjoyable with each update. Too name bugs now. I liked when it was simple.

Edit after developer response: **Bet mode has been off. It's unfortunate to hear that it gets even worse.** I couldn't possibly care less about sports betting. A good number of the articles on the app are titled something similar to "so-and-so to do such-and-such tonight." The game hasn't happened yet, these articles are pointless. Sports betting has ruined sports journalism. There are more streamlined apps for checking scores

Time to uninstall. What was once the best scoring app available, has now turned into one of the worst. Freezes up with ads, delayed scoring, sometimes shows no content after 10 seconds of loading. Terrible what has happened to this app. Used it for many years. After reading through all the reviews over the last couple months, looks like I'm not the only one annoyed either. Moving to Sports Alerts.

Tom Hoos

I'm changing my review. After trying to add players like Oscar Mercado and Austin Hays (Both MLB) and both pretty well known prospects and finding they're not in the apps player pool is pretty unacceptable. I follow prospects closely to give my self an edge in my leagues. I can't do that if the player pool is missing players. I'm sure there's other players but I honestly stopped trying to add more after these 2. Please fix this and add an option in app to request players be added.

This is a great app for everything I need. Minimal ads which make viewing scores easier (unlike ESPN which I do use too, but often times looking at scores there it jumps around because ads open and close.. so I go to this app first instead of ESPN). One thing that I've noticed since I got a new phone (galaxy 9+) is the widget is a little funky at times. Often will say there are no games scheduled for my sport until I click the refresh button. Then when I switch sports after a while and come back to the first it says no games scheduled again. Not a big deal to hit the refresh button, but is just shy of perfect. (I've tried deleting and putting the widget back on my screen.)

I love this app, have used it exclusively for sports since my first smartphone like 15yrs ago. But lately their mid-article ads are super glitchy and it's driving me crazy. When I read a long article, once I get to the first ad the rest of the text beyond it has disappeared--I just scroll down and down through blank screen until I get to the related/recommended articles section at the bottom. It's super frustrating to get through half an article and not be able to finish it. Fix this please!

Brett Hankerson

Great app, very snappy for how much data it must be querying. Everything I want for leagues. Individual sports like tennis and golf aren't as complete, no player info, but useable. Still missing the Rugby World Cup, but other major tournaments are pretty well presented. Olympics I'm sure are a nightmare for developers of apps like this, I don't recommend using this app for the Olympics

ADS ADS ADS, AND MORE ADS! I had a rating of 5 stars for this app, but it's all downhill now. And the worst kind of ads to boot, taking over half of the visible area of the screen, or the entiritey of the story so you try to click to get it to go away, and it just pops another ad. I'm not wasting my time on it any more. Here's the final "CLICK" for the Score >----< good-bye.

Michael Reynolds

Ridiculous what this app has become since they added betting app. Scores and stats are chronically behind or inaccurate. Once game starts they remove lines. Been using for many years, I'm done and will never use again. Pathetic! Update: Now they are even getting rosters right. Half the guys listed on Yankees roster for today's game aren't even on the team. 3 of them started the year on other teams. Keep up the great work guys.

This is one of the apps I've had the longest. I've tried all the sports scores apps and this has always been the best. Something happened several months ago though now and it is terrible. Constantly glitches, very slow, usually can't get it to get past the load screen. I've updated, deleted, re downloaded etc. I'm using a new Samsung so no issues there. Sometimes it shows which network the game is on, sometimes not. Mainly just want to open the app again to see the score, pretty basic.
